How verification works

Verification is the trust layer of AccessibilityNexus. No professional can submit proposals until a person on our team has reviewed and approved their application.

Path A

Formal credentials

Submit one or more recognized accessibility certifications for review:

CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies)
WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist)
CPWA (Certified Professional in Web Accessibility)
DHS Trusted Tester
Other recognized accessibility certifications

You provide the certification name, issuing organization, certificate number, dates, a copy of the certificate, and a public verification link if one exists.

Path B

Practical accessibility assessment

Formal certifications are expensive, and many genuinely skilled testers — including daily assistive technology users — do not hold one. Path B lets you demonstrate real skills instead:

Describe your assistive technology experience and testing tools.
Explain your accessibility background.
Submit a practical audit sample and a sample report.
Optionally add a screen recording or notes.
Tell us which services you are qualified to provide.

Our team reviews practical work against a quality checklist.

The verification badge

Approved professionals receive a visible Verified Accessibility Professional badge. Profiles also state the verification path — verified by certification, by practical assessment, or both — so companies always know what the badge means.

What happens after you apply

Applications move through clear statuses, and you are notified at every step:

Submitted: Your application is queued for review.
In review: A team member is actively assessing your submission.
More information needed: We need something clarified — update your application and resubmit.
Approved: You are verified and can publish your profile and submit proposals.
Rejected: The submission did not meet the bar. The decision includes the reason.
Suspended: Verification was withdrawn, for example for misrepresented credentials.

Integrity matters

Fake or misrepresented certifications lead to rejection or suspension. Verification keeps the marketplace trustworthy for everyone.
